Usually, the storm first occur with great winds and last for 30mins before the rain commence. In other occasions, the storm occur and last for 50mins without any rain. During this period, people dress in funny clothes covering their faces against dust and insects. Sokoto temperature is very high that Dafodiyo University students wander if sokoto was an extension of hell fire. Clothes dry within 15mins under the sun and water become very hot within 30mims. The people of sokoto speak hausa as their general and official language which is unique and very different from the hausa language in any Nigerian state. Sokoto is a very peaceful state in Nigeria and their federal University (Usmanu Dafodiyo University Sokoto) is the most peaceful University in the whole of Nigeria.
